What we help with
Most questions we receive fall into one of three areas. Whichever applies to you, we can match you with the right material and a plan that fits the time you have before the next exam window.
Syllabus & study plans
We map the full USNCO syllabus, from stoichiometry and thermodynamics through kinetics, equilibrium, acids and bases, electrochemistry, bonding, periodicity, and organic chemistry, and build a week-by-week plan around your current level and the dates of the season.
Past papers & answer keys
USNCO Local and National exams, with answer keys, run back many years. We help you choose where to start, work through them in the right order, and use them as the core of your training rather than a last-minute check.
Coaching for free-response & the lab
Part II written free-response and the Part III laboratory practical are where many strong students lose marks. We coach the reasoning, the write-up, and the bench technique that the National Exam and the IChO both demand.
An educational portal and prep service
This is an educational portal and preparation service for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad. We exist to make the program easy to understand and to help students prepare well, from the Local Exam each March, through the three-part National Exam in April and the June Study Camp, to the International Chemistry Olympiad in July.
The competition itself is run by the American Chemical Society, the world’s largest scientific society, which has sponsored the USNCO since 1984 and coordinates it through its network of Local Sections. We are not ACS and we are not the official ACS site. What we do is present the program information accurately, keep the dates and rules current, and turn years of past papers into a clear path you can follow.
If you only take one thing from this page: registration for the competition happens through your ACS Local Section Coordinator, and we are happy to help you find yours.

Three things above all: building a study plan around the full syllabus, choosing and working through past papers and answer keys, and coaching for the Part II free-response and the Part III laboratory practical.
No. This is an educational portal and preparation service about the USNCO. The competition is run by the American Chemical Society. We present program information accurately and help students prepare, but we are not ACS.
Registration is handled through your ACS Local Section Coordinator. No invitation is needed to begin the Local Exam each March, and we are glad to help you find your local coordinator if you are not sure who that is.
Yes. Alongside study plans and past papers, we coach students one to one and in small groups, with particular focus on the written free-response and laboratory sections that the National Exam and the IChO both test.
